When the part enter overloading output current, the datasheet said it cycle by cycle peak current limit. What will happen when the load continues to increase into hard short circuit like plier? Does the device then enter hiccup mode? Latched off? Or just regulate the current at 11Apk?

    Hi Tu,

    As long as the short circuit is there, this device will just continue to output current limited by the internal current limit. The similar TPS54622 device has hiccup mode current limit.
