Hi,
For a new project we are working on, we need some support for the device TPS2553DRVR.
We intend to use the TPS2553DRVR as high side switch with limiting current. Our requirements are:
- Vin = 3.3V
- Vout = 3.3V
- Iout-max = 61mA
- Temp min = -40°C
- Temp max = +125°C (junction)
If we set the ILIM pin to VIN, then we get the minimum current limiting value for this device, which is 75mA. That would be ok, the problem is, that the absolute minimum limiting current might be 50mA, which is too low for our application.
On the other hand, if I use an external resistor to program the current limit, then with the maximum Rilim recommended in datasheet, we get 100mA as minimum current(120mA typical) which is too high.
The questions are the following.
- How does the limiting current value (when ILIM is connected to VIN) change with temperature?
- Is the current limiting tolerance just an issue of temperature or is the dispersion between devices (different lots)?
- Is there any way (o perhaps other devices) to program the device between the 50mA and 100mA Ilim-min (as explain above). What I mean is, if I can set a different Rilim resistor (greater than 232Kohm) to set the limiting current to a lower value.
Thanks in advance and have a nice day.
