[FAQ] LM25118: VCCX current consumption

Part Number: LM25118

Hi Team,

A customer wants to know the current consumption of VCCX pin. The test condition at Section 6.5 shows that ICCX is 10mA. Is this the typical current consumption of VCCX?

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hi Danilo,

    Thank you for posting.  The VCCX power consumption is basically the same as the VCC pin power consumption because VCCX eventually feeds to VCC.  So, the consumption can be estimated by:

    IVCCX =IVCC = Fsw x (Qg1 + Qg2) +5mA

    Where Qg1 is the buck FET total gate charge, Qg2 the boost FET total gate charge, Fsw the switching frequency, and 5mA is for house keeping during operation.

    Hope this clarifies.

    Thanks,
