BQ24640: Questions about BQ24640 peripheral circuit

Hi team，

My customer would like to use BQ24640,but they are worried about efficiency. They refer to the circuit on the EVM board

As shown below，

I want to know if there is any solution that can replace P-MOS. Customers worry that using P-MOS will lose a lot of efficiency.

We want to replace it with an ideal diode (such as LM74700). Is there a feasible solution? Or is there another way?

Hi team,

I have read your instructions. If I want to further reduce power consumption, the customer wants to change Pmos to ideal diode and use ACDRV to control EN pin. Is this feasible? Or is there a better suggestion?

By the way, if BQ24640 wants to realize power path, can it only be realized by peripheral hardware like EVM board?

Hi,

When ACDRV is off it is held at VCC, so since the voltage levels of ACDRV aren't defined relative to ground, I would not use this to control the EN pin. The ACDRV is defined with relation to G and S of input reverse blocking MOSFET, so that when on the difference is -6V.
