BQ25606: About the operation of BQ25606 for a deep discharge battery

Part Number: BQ25606
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25895, BQ25601

Hi,

Let me ask you about BQ25606 behavior with respect to deep discharge battery.
Battery voltage of the deep discharge battery is 1.5V~1.7V.
The battery in this state is charged / discharged prohibited by the protection IC.
How does BQ25606 work when a battery with the above conditions is connected?

After checking the operation of the actual application, it will try to start charging every time it is connected.

The BQ25606 applies a charging current for a moment to check the battery status, and repeats the operation of stopping the charging.
Is this understanding correct?
And If this behavior is correct, is there a way to know this situation with an external MCU?

Regards,
Yusuke
