LMR33640: output voltage regulation through control voltage

Part Number: LMR33640
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM61440, LM61460

Hello,

I want to regulate the output voltage of LMR33640ADDA with a control voltage.

So I modified the schematic diagramm (color green).

The control voltage is between 0V to 5V.

And the output voltage should be between 15V to 0V.

The Output Current depends on the load and is max. 3A.

Could you please take a look if these modification are a violation of the design rules of LMR33640ADDA?

Thanks,

Alen

  • Hello Alen,

While not explicitly mentioned in the datasheet, I recommend not sourcing current from FB.

That is, Vcntrl-min selection should ensure IFB >=0.

That would be my only concern right now for this application.

I would recommend LM61440 for 3A USB app...assuming that is what this is? LM61440 and LM61460 are equivalent silicon, just different current trims.
