BQ34Z100-G1: Impedance Tracking with cells in parallel

Dear TI Support,

We are working on developing a 7S3P battery pack using LiFePO4 cells rated at 1700mAhr.

We are using the bq34z100-G1 for fuel gauging and have found a CHEM ID that seems to match.

My question is, will having 3 cells in parallel affect the fuel gauge's ability to properly track impedance?

The capacity is set at 5100, but does the part take into account cells in parallel because the CHEM ID is for a single cell?

Any input would be much appreciated.

Hello Kevin,

This should not impact the gauging, during the learning cycle the gauge will update the parameters needed from the chemID for accurate gauging. You just have to input the design capacity for the pack like you have done.
