TPS62172: TPS62172 - Vin pin floating while the output gets 3.7-5.5V

Part Number: TPS62172

Hello Team,

we are testing an application where the TPS62172 is followed by a voltage supervisor.

To test the failing conditions (monitored by the voltage supervisor) we are planning to apply an output voltage that goes from 3.7V up to 5.5V.

Final test condition that will be done in production as well, would be Vout set at 3.7V while Vin pin is left floating.

  • Can the test condition cause any device damage? (e.g. via ESD diodes or other manners?)

While removing the inductor could be done on the first tests made in the lab, it cannot be done for the serie production test, where only Vin can be left floating.

Thanks,

SunSet
