TPS55288: Not working

Hi,

I am trying to use the TPS55288 to power my system (4V) with two different power sources: 20V (Solar Panel) or 3.3V (Battery). I am powering the VCC from an external 5V but I only see 0.6V at the output.

I am using internal feedback, no output current limit (ISP, ISN, and VOUT connect all together), MODE = 75kΩ. I was expecting initially to get 5V base on the default value of the registers Reference Voltage and Feedback Selection.

I will highly appreciate it if you could help me with the debugging of my design. I have the files from my design available in case they can be useful.

Hi Marlon,

1. Firstly please make sure the device is soldered well. How many devices have you tried? Did you see similar phenomenon on different boards?

2. Is the I2C communication good? You can first read I2C registers and compare with datasheet.

Hi Zack,

Right now, I am waiting for the boards to come back. I sent them back to the manufacture since there was a problem with the assembly of some of the components.

I am expecting to receive them this week, as soon as I get them I will check what you mentioned before.

I have the schematic and fabrication files in case they can be useful. I can share them with you.
