BQ 24091evm - way to simulate charge/discharge characteristics

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24091

I want to test the BQ24091 evm and was wondering if there was a way to simulate charge/discharge characteristics ? For example, is there a tool on webench?

I know TI has the TINA software and I want to know if its possible to export the BQ24091 schematic. Basically I want to test the charge profile virtually instead of running an actual test. I need to be able to do this tomorrow and get results for Monday. This is urgent so I'ld appreciate if you could please let me know asap. Thanks!

Basically I need to test the bQ24091 to charge our battery at 3.6V at 10mA. Thus, I would need a 360 K resistor. I need to know if there is a way I might be able to use TINA or Webench to export the schematic to run a simulation test to characterize charge and discharge profile. This would be the most efficient way since I cannot physically run a test today out of the office. If a simulation cannot be done I need some technical support on where to put the resistor on the board.

right now we are checking out the TI Design:

any spice models?

  • Unfortunately, we do not have simulation models for the bq2409x family.  It is best to run actual charge cycles to account for line resistances/impedances that could affect charging and would likely not be simulated.
