TLVH431A (PK) pinout

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLVH431A, TLVH431, TLVH432

Hello Team,

I have customer asking about the pinout for the TLVH431A (PK) SOT-89. This is not referenced in the pin functions table in the datasheet.

Would the pinout for the TLVH431AIPK be as follows?

Cathode – pin 1

Ref – pin 3

Anode – pin 2

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Ed

  • Hello Ed,

    Yes, the pinout is not shown in the pin functions table, but the image of the package is still in the datasheet for reference.
    We will need to work on updating the datasheet to correct this.

    Yes, you are correct that the pinout would be as you describe.
    Cathode-Pin1
    Ref-Pin3
    Anode-Pin2

    Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Best,
    Michael
  • Hello Michael,

    Thank you for the confirmation.

    Have a great day!

  • Hello Michael,

    After going back over the mechanical for the device it looks to show the pin orientation from top to bottom (Top View) pin 3 at the top, pin 2 in the middle, and pin 1 on the bottom for the PK package.

    So after seeing this I am a little confused. When compared with the mechanical the TLVH431 PK (SOT-89) PACKAGE (TOP VIEW) on Pg.3 would be;

    Cathode – 3
    Anode – 2
    Ref – 1

    However this is the pin out described in the pin functions table for the TLVH432 PK (SOT-89) PACKAGE.

    Additionally in the pin functions table the pin out for the 431PK is not listed but the pin out for the 432PK is listed. After comparing this all to the mechanical I believe the pin out for the PK package listed in the pin functions table is actually for the 431PK and not the 432PK.

    So in conclusion I would say that the pin out for the TLVH431PK is;

    Cathode – 3
    Anode – 2
    Ref – 1

    And for the TLVH432PK;

    Ref – 3
    Anode – 2
    Cathode – 1

    Can you confirm if this is correct and the pin functions table is not correct?

    If the pin functions table is not correct the customer would need this to be updated before they can put the device in their database to use.

    Please advise.

    Regards,

    Ed
  • Hello Ed,

    Yes, when you compare to the mechanical packaging you are absolutely correct. I see that now. And when I look at other datasheets I see that the bottom pin is considered pin 1 when it is a top view image and the 3 pins point to the right.

    I will work to get this updated, and it should hopefully be corrected by the end of the week. Will this be alright?

    Best,
    Michael
  • Hello Michael,

    Yes, that timeline is hopefully sufficient. I will let the customer know that you will be working to get the datasheet updated.

    I would like to confirm that the pin outs below are the actual pin outs of the devices, if you have this information;

    TLVH431 PK;

    Cathode – 3
    Anode – 2
    Ref – 1

    TLVH432 PK;

    Ref – 3
    Anode – 2
    Cathode – 1

    Thank you for your help.

    Regards,

    Ed
  • Ed,

    I have submitted a change request, so this is currently being worked on. I hope to have it by the end of the week, but hard to guarantee.

    Yes, given the pin assignments in the mechanical/packaging information, these are the correct pin assignments. The datasheet will be updated to reflect this and match the mechanical/packaging information.

    Best,
    Michael
  • Michael,

    Thank you for all your help. It is much appreciated.

    Have a great week!

  • Ed,

    Please note that the datasheet is live on the web with the update.

    Best,
    Michael
