Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61088
I tested to drive a servo motor and test stall current yesterday: with and without TPS61088 DC/DC boost.
The test with DC/DC boost from 3.2v(lab power supply output) to 6.5v(modify resistor value on EVM board). When I stall the servo motor, it reached 4~6A current consuming.
However, I tested without DC/DC boost, with direct 6.5V supply to servo motor from the same lab power supply. Then, the stall current become 1.5~2A, which is close to what servo motor spec claims.
The current is tested through 0.05 ohm shunt resistor measured by scope at output of power supply side always.
Pic 1: without TPS61088, the purple line is the stall current of servo motor directly hook up with power supply.(without TPS61088)
Pic 2: with TPS61088 DC/DC boost.
What is going on? Can anybody answer it or give some direction for figuring this issue out.
