In order to return to ROM mode after a program flash download the firmware needs to support that command. Was this is an EVM firmware? Which checksum did you write 32k or boot 2k?

If you have successfully downloaded firmware to the EVM, then you need to tell us:

1. What firmware did you download?

2. What were the settings on the GUI for checksums when you downloaded it?

You should be able to start the GUI and go to firmware download mode, and it will show you the last file you downloaded and the checksums settings you used. 

If the code has been modified from the TI code, it is pretty easy to make the jump to ROM mode stop working.

Also if you write the boot flash checksum and the code is set up to only erase the program flash checksum, this will also lock it up.

Evg, I was hoping to get a file name.  If you can't tell us what program is in there, it's going to be much harder to help you.  What can you tell us about the file you downloaded?  Did you use the checksum menu to rewrite the checksum?

 Normally if you download a file, it will retain the file name, like this: 

Ian, i dont know what file name of firmware, because this file downloaded by other people from other computer. I thought there is a way phisical clear cheaksum, independently what firmware is downloaded 

There is no general way to clear the checksum without knowing what the code is.  Depending on the specific code it can go from trivial to a project for the National Security Administration.  This is deliberate, because it allows pretty good security for customer IP.  It does have the side effect that you are seeing here. 

I would suggest you start by asking the other people who have downloaded the firmware what they have provided for clearing the checksum. 

Ian, i downloaded traininglabs from ti.com and used code from one of there. I see this:

I think this support me, but UCD3138OL40EVM-032 haven't pin FLT3

Even with no FLT3 pin, when you start up, one of two things will happen:

1.  It will see a 1 on the FLT3 pin and clear the checksum - you will go to ROM mode

2. It will see a 0 on the FLT3 pin and not clear the checksum.  If it is the original code, on the correct device, you will be able to use the D9 command to clear the checksum.

Let's try to approach this from another direction - what do you get when you click on "DEVICE_ID" on the GUI?

What device are you using in the EVM?

Which training code is downloaded?

i understood what mean this code, but pin  FLT3 is absent in this board

i downloaded labs from www.ti.com/.../ucd-training-labs

When i clicking on "DEVICE_ID", errors don't appear
