TLC59283: any solutions about 15kV ESD test for TLC59283

Hi team,

I promote TLC59283 to customer and have some questions as below:

1. Because the LED board is separate from the control board, customer have a 15kV ESD test. I find that TLC59283 ESD rating is 3kV. so do you have any solutions about this. Is this possible to add a resistor on TLC59283 output?

2. The datasheet show TLC59283 constant current can set by Riref, my question is this current is set for all channel and can not change by SPI?

3. how to control LED luminance?

    Hi, Betty,

    1. Please be noted system level ESD is not the same as our chip ESD. Customer can use resistors on the output.

    2. The SPI signal just turn on/off the channels and when the channel is ON, the current is constant and set by Riref.

    3. If you want to change the LED luminace, you need to use software to adjust the ON/OFF time. You can also choose a PWM type LED driver like TLC5946 which is more easy to change the luminance.
