LM73606: How to use models for simulation?

Part Number: LM73606
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Hello,

I have Tina as well as LT Spice XVII and I'm trying to figure out how to do a simulation with the LM73606 part.  I've downloaded these files:

1. Should I be able to open one of these files and build a circuit around them in Tina?  I've downloaded Tina to my laptop.

2. What is the difference between the two files?

  • Robbie,

    1. You should be able to download them and import them into TINA but it's a bit of a pain. I'd recommend using WEBENCH to create a design, then export to TINA. That should do most of the work for you in terms of getting this into TINA as well as part selection.

    2. One is encrypted, one is unencrypted. Unencrypted lets you modify certain parameters if that's what you need. Encrypted hides this ability so the model won't get messed with.

    WEBENCH instructions:
    1. Go to the LM73606 product page
    2. Insert your parameters into the WEBENCH box to the right (scroll down a bit).
    3. Click, "Open Design"
    4. Modify as you see fit.
    5. Export to TINA by clicking, "Sim Export" on the top toolbar. Select, "Tina-TI" and click, "Export" (then wait a few minutes)
    6. Download the file, save it, and open it in Tina. Click, "Analysis - Transient" to run a transient model. Use Analysis for other sims as well.

  • Samuel,

Thank you very much for the help! That worked and I am now running the Transient simulation as you recommended.
  • Robbie,

Glad to hear it! Have fun!
