LM2941: What is the expected line regulation at lower drop-out?

Part Number: LM2941

Hi,

I noticed that the electrical characterization on LM2941 for line regulation is performed at Vout+2V.

As my application involves Vin =18.8V and Vout = 18V @100mA, though it met the Vdo for the Iload of 100mA, may I know what I should expect for line regulation?Would my system be seeing 4 to 10mV/V as mentioned above?

Thanks,

Christina

  • Hi Christina,

Yes, your system would still be seeing 4 to 10mV/V in your application.

The LDO is not in dropout mode as you mentioned, and 100mA load is still a light load for the LM2941, so we would expect the line regulation to be similar as what is in the datasheet.

Please let me know if I can help you further.
