LP5024: Normal-mode supply current with only 1 channel

Part Number: LP5024

Hi,

Greetings.

As I understand the datasheet, the LP5024 would consume 5mA-8mA when all of the OUT is sinking 10mA. I assume that the current consumption of the LP5024 change with the number of channels driven. Is my assumption correct?

If so, I was wondering if you could provide me the typical supply current (IVCC) when only 1 channel is sinking 10mA. I am trying to get a much lower current for this device.

Looking forward to your response.

Thank you and have a great day.

Regards,

Cedrick

  • Hi Cedrick,

         We don't have typical value for a large amount of chips. Although I can test it for you, it is only applicable for only single chip.

         You can check whether power saving mode can satisfy your requirements or not.

  • Hi Charles,

    Thank you for your quick response.

    I've checked the power saving mode, however I think this will not meet my requirements.

    I'd really appreciate if you could help me get the information about the typical supply current (IVCC) when only 1 channel is sinking 10mA.

    Cedrick

  • Hi Cedrick,

      We are on National Day and the information will be checked until the end of the holiday.

      As mentioned above, we don't have that data for large amount of chips. But I can test it on the EVM board and the conclusion will not applicable to all the chips. So will the data tested on the EVM be helpful to you?

  • Hi Charles,

    I apologize if I bother you.

    Moreover, I understand that we don't have data for large amount of chip. However, I think it'll be helpful for us if you could test it on EVM.

    Thank you for your support. I'll wait for your feedback.

  • Hi Cedrick,

    Sorry for late reply that this week is our national holiday.

    In fact, current consumption of LP5024 does not changed by the number of output channels or how much current they sink. It would be slightly changed varying from power supply VCC. Also there would be variation in different units. Here are some data I tested at EVM for your reference.

    Vcc / V Iout / mA Icc / mA
    5 0 0.0065
    LED0 = 0.0974 7.5192
    LED0 = 10.008 7.5165
    LED0 = 20.248 7.5117
    all channels at 10mA 7.5263
    5.5 LED0 = 10.0178 7.8191
    2.7 LED0 = 9.9968 7.0822

  • Hi Cedrick,

        Do you have any more questions?

  • Hi Charles, Hardy,

    Thank you for testing this for us. I really appreciate it.

    Have a great day!

    Regards,

    Cedrick
