TPS62363: Datasheet not clear about register TEMP

Part Number: TPS62363

Hi team,

It looks like the datasheet  of TPS62363 has vague description about register TEMP.

The datasheet states " If the device's junction temperature, TJ, exceeds 120°C typical, the TJEW bit is set high. " and " If a thermal shutdown has occurred, the TJTS bit is latched and remains a logic high as long as VDD and AVIN are present and until the bit is reset by the host. " So, I think it means the TJEW bit can't be writen by users while the TJTS bit can. Am I correct ? If so, when I program the register TEMP by I2C, I need to place 8 bits data on the SDA line, does this have any side effects on the TJEW bit ?

Regards,

Noah

  • Hello,

your statement is correct. You can see in the table 30 at page 46 of the D/S a short description for TJEW and TJTS. The bit that you apply should not have any effect on TJEW as reported in the table 30, because its status is determined by Tj.
