LP5024EVM: LED voltage values

Part Number: LP5024EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP5024

Does VR for the led need to be higher than forward voltage value or does it need to be the forward voltage value for the LED ?

Same question for VBG?

Could they both just run off of 5V? Is that what's happening in the schematic?

Thanks,

  • Hi Sir,

We have assigned this question to the proper engineer, please wait for the reply. thanks.

  • Hi Larkin,

Yes VR and VBG should be higher than forward voltage to satisfy the saturation voltage of current sink in output pins. The minimum VLED should be higher than Vf+Vsat. For LP5024 Vsat is around 0.4V which you can find at datasheet page 7.

Yes you can set both them at 5V. Default setting on EVM set both them to 3.3V. If you need to set them by yourself, jumpers on J9 need to be removed.
