Ii is my understanding that VLED should not exceed the Vout Abs Max of 6V in case of an LED short, is this correct?

Hi Michael,

Yes your understanding is correct. One thing need to be noticed is we recommended VLED not exceed spec in 7.3 Recommended Operating Conditions, which is 5.5V.
