TPS544B25: TPS544B25 Vset resistors

Part Number: TPS544B25
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS549B22, TPS546C23, TPS546B24A

Dears,

One of my customer use TPS544B25 power for AI SOC, the Soc core voltage is 0.6V, how can we get the 0.6V voltage when boot up.

We can't find how to choose the resistor?

  • Hi Tony,

For the TPS544B25 device to boot up to 0.6V, you can do the following:

    1. you need to have VSET tied to BP3 using a resistor.(This is the last option in the Table 2 that you have shown)

    2. Do a PMBUS write to the VOUT_COMMAND,

    3. Then use STORE_DEFAULT_ALL command.

This will make the value in the VOUT_COMMAND register as the default during next power up.

    Regards,

    Gerold

The TPS544B25 does not provide a 0.6V boot voltage without PMBus programming.   has talked about how to configure the TPS544B25 to power up to 0.6V using PMBus programming prior to enabling the output.

Alternately, we have other devices that offer a pin-programmable initial boot voltage of 0.6V if needed.

If PMBus telemetry is not required, the TPS549B22 provides VOUT_COMMAND programming and a pin-strapped 0.6V boot voltage, but it does not support telemetry.

If PMBus telemetry is required, the TPS546C23 offers a 0.6V reference voltage at boot, VOUT_COMMAND control, Output Voltage, Current, and Temperature telemetry using the same voltage mode control loop at the TPS544B25.

We are also releasing a TPS546B24A later this year, which offers a pin-programmable output voltage at 0.6V, VOUT_COMMAND control of the output voltage as well as Output Voltage, Current, Temperature, and Input Voltage telemetry.
