BQ76930EVM: bq76930 evm

Part Number: BQ76930EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

hı;

ı have been working on Bq76930evm and and also working on bq769X0 Evaluation Software.It has appeared an error DEV_XD as you see in the attachment.ı tried clear bits .What could be the reason? Here some pin voltage ı measured.

RGOUT 2.45

REGSRC 11.35

CAP1 3.25 (AFTER BOOT)

CAP2 14.84 (AFTER BOOT)

VC5X 14.78

TS1-VSS 0V

TS2-VSS 14.7

TS2-VC5X 0

  • Hi Zeliha,

    It looks like the upper cell group is powered off. CAP2 should measure 3.3V higher than VC5X.

    Can you tell me the voltages measured at the cell inputs (C0-C10), and BAT+? Do you have the resistor divider switches on or are you connecting cells to the board?

    Thanks,

    Matt

  • Hı Matt;

    ı have both of them and firstly ı used 10 cell in seri and total measured voltage was 24.5v and same error was occured .Then I used simulator resistor which are mounted on the board that have value 200 ohm here the measured values between pins.

    C0-C10     33,02V

    BATT+       36.97V

    BAT  Pin    33.03V

    Regards..

  • Hi Zeliha,

    The BAT Pin and C10 voltages should be equal to the BATT+ voltage. And like I said before, CAP2 should be 3.3V higher than VC5X. It seems like the device may be damaged. Do you see a high amount of current on your power supply?

    I suggest replacing the device on the EVM and retesting.

    Best regards,

    Matt

  • Hi Matt;

    Thanks for your attention.Working on Lİfepo4 battery and charge current must be 6A, at begining ( along 2 week ) there was no error and I used both of interface that Bqstudio  then like  I shared the error was occured but now I realized C23 is shorted which is mounted between CAP2 and VC5X ,I changed capacitor as the same value ones but situation still contiune ..

    Regards..

  • Hi Zeliha,

    If the cap was shorted, it is possible the device was also damaged. If you are not seeing the correct voltage on CAP2, I recommend replacing the device on the board. Also, check for any other components that might have been damaged.

    Best regards,

    Matt
