LMG3410-HB-EVM: do we have power consumption data for this EVM?

Hi,

Customer use our EVM for testing, and they use voltage source to provide HVBUS voltage, but they see when without load, the HVBUS=400V, current through HVBUS is 35mA, it looks big.

Do we have power consumption data for this EVM?

  • Hello Yuan. Can you give me some more information?

    1. Does the EVM also have the GaN daughter card populated?

    2. Are they only applying the 400V HVBUS or are they also powering the EVM with 12V?

  • 1) we only have the GaN daughter card ,and have maken a test board。

    2)we apply the 400V HVBUS and  also power the card  with 5V

  • Some more questions:

    1. Is the device switching, but no load?

    2. If it is switching, what is the frequency?

    The 35mA with 400V does seem to be a lot since it will be 14W on the FETs. 

    Here are some questions and steps to take:

    1. You mentioned in your notes the device is heating up with open output. Is the device getting hotter when it's loaded or it went back to normal?

    2. Could you try to lower the switching frequency to say 100kHz and see if the current is halved?

    3. Could you try to lower the bus voltage and see if the current is scaled down?

          i rember low switching frequency, the current is halved。 i confirm again today。
