LM25141-Q1: LM25141-Q1 inductor value question

Part Number: LM25141-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM25141

Hi Support team

Based on my applications (Vin_typ=24V, Vo=13.5, Io=10A, fs=440kHz), a 4.7uH inductor is selected to meet about 30% ripple current.

However, according to Equation 13, the inductance should be greater than10uH.

The inductor ripple current will be only 13% if a 10uH inductor is used. And this is conflict with the assumption of 30% ripple current.

Could LM25141-Q1 work well with a 4.7uH inductor in my application? Thank you.

  • Hi Lm25141 is fixed internal slope compensation when you have fixed the frequency. So when you Vout is higher, to avoid subharmonic oscillation , you need to increase the inductor. So I suggest customer can sim in the TINA or Pspice or they can choose 10uH in prototype design.
