TPS23755: SCH check & transformer check

Part Number: TPS23755

Dear TI Support team

Pls help check the customer Design and transformer in system design is it ok?  thanks!3122.TSA115 2013-11-29.pdf

  • Hello,

    • The rating of the TVS is very important it must be the ‘58’ so that the clamping voltage is below 95V.
    • They have two 100uF input bulk caps. They only need 10uF, so they could save a lot of cost and space by changing these
    • They have no EMI choke, no ferrite beats and dithering is disabled. Their EMI/EMC will be poor with no way to adjust/improve
    • Looks like there are multiple output grounds. I would hope these are connected somewhere else on the schematic, or common mode caps between all grounds is needed.
    • Most importantly, this transformer will probably not work. The TPS23755 uses primary side regulation (PSR). This requires a special transformer stackup. Please use the transformer in the EVM, or alternatively we have an equivalent at Wurth.
