LM27761: Alternative review

Part Number: LM27761

Hi sir,

I want to select a best device on DC/DC converter.

my design parameters 5V convert to -5V, output current 1mA, very low voltage ripple, IQ(SupplyCurrent):Max 1mA.

I find LM27761DSGR is a good device, do you have a better recommendation than this device.

BTW, I also look out LM2611BMF (Cuk Converter).

I want to review the difference between LM27761DSGR and LM2611BMF.

Can you give me some suggestions on differences, merit, and demerit of both devices?

Thanks a lot.

  • Hi Frank,

Unfortunately, we do not have any DC DC Converter that can deliver a negative voltage. But you could choose any DC DC simply by reversing polarity to obtain a negative voltage but this totally depends on your application requirements.

LM27761 would be the solution in this case. Even then, you will have to increase Vin slightly (5.3 or so) as you need to account for the losses in the charge pump to get a -5V Vout.

LM2611BMF falls under a separate product line and I will not be able to provide a comparison with this device. Kindly open a new thread for support on this particular device. Thank you for your understanding.
