TPS2662: RTN and GND

Part Number: TPS2662

Hi team,

My customer is considering TPS2662. Could you support the question below?

The TPS2662 has two GND that "RTN" and "GND".  I think that "RTN" is analog GND and "GND" is power GND as in a DC/DC converter. However, don't "RTN" and "GND" need to be connected single point?

Regards,

Yamaguchi

  • Hi Yamaguchi,

"RTN" is the reference ground for all internal nodes of TPS2662 while "GND" is the system ground

Do not connect RTN to GND. Connecting RTN to GND disables the Reverse Polarity protection feature
