    Yes, you could swap out the IC on the TPS65218EVM-100 from TPS65218D0 to TPS65216 and the EVM will still operate.

    An alternative option is to keep TPS65218D0 IC on board and disable (or ignore) the DCDC5 and DCDC6 regulators.

    TPS65216 is the same as TPS65218D0 but with the Backup Battery sub-system removed. There are other minor changes, like the removal of load switches and a GPO, but the DCDC5/6 change is the most obvious difference.
