LP5036: Enable Input (EN)

Part Number: LP5036
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP5030

Hello,

My questions are in regards to the chip enable (pin 43) of the LP5030/6.

  1. When disabled via pin 43, does the I2C bus still work?
  2. When disabled via pin 43, is the firmware still running inside the chip?
  3. When pin 43 is moved from disable-to-enable, will this impact any of the I2C registers?
    1. Figure 8.4 would suggest that the device always goes through an initialization sequence and all registers are reset.   Please confirm.
  4. Are there any concerns at startup if pin 43 is high/low?\

Don

  • Hi Don,

    1. No I2C interface is not work and registers cannot be written.
    2. No the device would enter into SHUTDOWN state.
    3. All registers would reset, when toggled EN to high.
    4. I think there is no other concerns for EN pin. It can be toggled to high before or after VCC power up. and it can be toggled to low at any state.
