BQ34110: to get gauging parameter constants by GPCCEDV

Hi Team,

The GPCCEDV instruction manual shows the following.
>• Continuous discharge at 2 different rates, from fully charged state until termination voltage is reached.
https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluub45b/sluub45b.pdf

I heard my customer can't get data log files from "fully charged state" because of their evaluation environment.
They can get data log files from 50mV less than fully charged state.
Is it possible to get gauging parameter constants by GPCCEDV in this case?

Best Regards,
Yaita

  • Hi Yaita,

Can you be more specific by what you mean by they can't get "fully charged state" because of their evaluation environment? Do they plan on using a higher full charge capacity for their devices in the field?

If they plan on using the same full charge capacity in their evaluation and in the field, then they can change the expected FC to that charge state and then do test using that value.

  • Hi Jessica-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
I would like to know if the following "from fully charged state" is strict requirement for getting parameters by GPCCEDV.
    >• Continuous discharge at 2 different rates, from fully charged state until termination voltage is reached.

I don't have heard the detail why they can't get data log files from "fully charged state" however if the answer is yes I will explain it to my customer.

    Best Regards,
    Yaita

  • Hi Yaita-san,

This is a strict requirement. It will need to be charged until FC bit is set so the gauge knows when it's fully charged.
