BQSTUDIO: BQStudio: Full charge capacity is not reflecting as expected

We are using BQ25713 as part of main charge control IC and BQ34Z100 as guage in our battery back up based design.

Battery used is 2-terminal 3SP1 Lethium Ion NiMH with 10.7V as max voltage and 2900 mAh capacity.

We are connecting gauge to BQStudio and in Data memory configuration window we are writing Design Capacity as 2900 mAh and design energy as 10700 mWh, however Register window is showing full charge capacity as 980mAh and because of that we are not getting proper value for state of charge.

We wanted to know, should we need to update any other value to get Full charge capacity as 2900 mAh ?

We Request your guidance on the same.

Hi Sudha,

Have you identified chemID with GPCCHEM? After this you must also perform a learning cycle.

Hi Nick,

We are using Lithium Ion NiMH 3S battery with total 10.7V and 2100mAh capacity, based on these configurations, we have used 1253 as Chemical ID and performed learning cycle. However state of charge information didn't change.

To get Chem ID from GPCCHEM , we are following charge and discharge cycle and capturing log using BQStudio, however we are facing issues and we are receiving little support from TI forum.

Hi Nick,

We are using Lithium Ion NiMH 3S1P (3 series 1 parallel )battery with total 10.7V and 2900mAh capacity and we got the Chem ID(1253) from the chemistry ID selection xls sheet, please find the attached .xls.

Please let us know if we need to use different close match Chem ID and need to do learning cycle.

We are using Lithium Ion NMC 3s1p battery not NiMH. Sorry for the typo

Based on NMC, we have selected 1253 as Chem ID

You should select the chemID that is reported by GPCCHEM.
