[FAQ] LM2662: Output current when used as positive voltage doubler?

Part Number: LM2662

Hi team,

Can you please answer the following customer question?

When works as a voltage converter, the output current is more or less 200mA, but how much is the output current when is it working as a Positive Voltage Doubler? There are no data corresponding to this usage from datasheet. Could you please give me some suggestion.

I tested, when I add a 100mA load, it doesn’t work. Are there some experience information on your side?

Thank you,

Franz

  • Hello Franz,

Normally a voltage doubler can deliver roughly half the current compared to an inverter. During startup the device will not be able to deliver this current.

For more details, it would be interesting what the customer is using as load.

    Best regards,
    Brigitte
