TPS61023: Minimum off time.

Guru 10385 points
Part Number: TPS61023

Hi team,

I'd like to use TPS61023 in Vin=Vout condition.
However, it has a minimum off-time.
I think the high-side switch is Pch FET as in the datasheet.
Why does it have minimum off time?

My condition is
Vin=2V~3.6V
Vout=3V
Iout=100mA

Sincerely.
Kengo.

  • Hi Kengo,

    TPS61023 can support your condition and enters into pass-through mode when Vin is higher than setting Vout.

    You don't have to care about the minimum off time spec in your application. When Vin is close to Vout, the duty cycle decreases so it only turns on with minimum on time and transfer energy from Vin to Vout.
