LM25066A: LM25066: damaged GATE

Part Number: LM25066A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM25066, CSD18536KTT

Hi,

I'm testing the attached circuit.

1586.LM25066_Design_Calculator_REV_D.XLSX

Upon a series of  cycling of power on/power off the circuit, the GATE driver ends up broken, with pin GATE permanently tied to 0V. The rest of the funtions (PMBus, measurement of vin, etc) and the MOSFET keep working ok. Status word holds the value: 0x0841.

At first I didn't have A Shottky diode on the output, so I soldered one on the output, but it made no difference. I think the destructive event happens when start-up with load (I use 5A/6A on output), but I couldn't capture waveforms of the event.

I wan't to ask if you have experience with a similar issue and what can you suggest for further protection of the gate drive.

Thanks,

Fran Gonzalez
