Detect floating state on UC2906

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UC2906

I'm making a battery charger with the UC2906, the circuit is similar to the following:

There is a microprocessor in the circuit, and I would like to use it to detect when the charger is in the "floating" state.
I see that the pin 10 (State Level) could provide this information to the microprocessor, but this pin is already connected to some resistors that are needed for the charger, and it is not possible to use it as a digital output without alter the charging parameters.
Please any advice is welcome.
Thanks.

  • Well, I finally found it out by myself. I used the pin 1 (C/S OUT) and it worked ok.

I was in doubt because in this circuit pin 1 is connected to pin 8, and I didn't know if this could be a problem. But voltage levels admitted by pin 8 are absolutely compatibles with microprocessor input level (0 to 3.55V) so there was not trouble connecting a pull-up resistor between pin 1 and 3.55V.
Hope this can help somebody, regards.
