Unable to generate Golden Image (BQ27520). What to do?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hello,

I am not able to generate Golden Image files due to the error "java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 5".

Please see attached photo and advise:

  • I'm getting the same error when trying to generate the golden image files.

    I've described it here:

    I uploaded the requested files.

Unfortunately the problem is still not solved.

  • Hi Sebastian,

Let's try to work it out together. I was able to generate the files yesterday after many trials with UNSEAL FULL ACCESS command sent first. It is not consistent for me for some reason, maybe due to I2C related problems but let's see if issuing UNSEAL_FULL_ACCESS perior to golden image generation works for you consistently. If so, then I will know I have some comm. issues on my side.

  • Good hint.
Sending UNSEAL_FULL_ACCESS and then let bqStudio create the Golden Images worked instantly.
This should be mentioned somewhere on the Golden Image window in bqStudio!
I was sure that the "Create Image Files" Button/Command will do anything necessary, but this seems not to be the case.

    Sebastian
  • Great, so does it work for you consistently? I will therefore fix the i2c thing on my side and hopefully this issue is solved.
Also, were you able to complete a learning cycle (updating Qmax and RA tables) fully and properly?

    To TI staff,
Regarding bqStudio documentation and specifically the command descriptions (in particular FULL ACCESS) - I find myself do many things by trial and error, a process which takes up much time due to what I think is lack of documentation. For instance, I couldn't find any app note describing what Full Access means in comparison to UNSEAL for instance, and what its role in the learning cycle etc. I would like to see more documentation related to bqStudio.
  • Yes, it is reproducible. Only after sending UNSEAL_FULL_ACCESS creating the Golden Images work.
I've not yet done a learning cycle since i first want to program a useful Chem ID or use batteries that match one. I've only ran some Chem ID selection cycles.
