Once the FUSE output is activated, can it ever be reset?

During development, my bq40z60 detected a fault condition. It activated the FUSE output.

I have corrected the fault condition. I cannot seem to clear the FUSE output. I even re-flashed the firmware on the device.

Is there someway to reset that FUSE output or do I need to replace the bq40z60 chip?

You cannot update parameters when a PF is present and you can reset the PF with the PF_Clear command.

First, I maybe should not have used the term "Permanent Failure" as that has specific meaning on the bz40z60. I never sent a "PF_EN" command. All of the PF Statuses are 0.

I was able to re-flash the bq40z60. This did not clear the FUSE output.

Sending PF_Clear does not seem to do anything.

Is there some sort of intentional fusible element inside the bq40z60 that, once fused, can never be reset?
