BQ28Z610: 2S battery with no balance connector config

Hi,

what is the proper connection if we have a 2S battery that does not have a balancing connector for the least positive cell? Is it just connected to VC2 and leave VC1 floating, or short VC1 and VC2?

Hi Josh,
Yes, short Vc1 and Vc2. Make sure to not exceed the max limit that vc1 can handle and make sure to modify the df paramters (Especially the protection parameters) accordingly for a 1s cell because the gauge will see your 2s as 1s .

Hi Onyx,

Looking at the datasheet, the Absmax for VC1 is both VSS+8.5 and VSS+30.

Are there different conditions for the +30 vs the +8.5 or is this a typo?
