BQ27441-G1: SOC, SOH reading 0 while current voltage and power reading

Part Number: BQ27441-G1

Hello, the battery gauge G1A appears to be reading current, voltage and power correctly, but SOC, SOH are always reading zero. I've set the design parameters DESIGN CAPACITY, DESIGN ENERGY to values consistent with the battery / battery gauge combination used and the TERMINATION VOLTAGE parameter is well below the operating voltage.

Just wondering how I might diagnose what is amiss.

  • Hi Steven,
The bat det flag has to be set. This can be achieved by ensuring the BIN pin is pulled to ground via a 10K if the BIE flag is set or if clear using the bat insert command 0x000C. This is only how the device will start reporting SOC correctly. See the TRM for additional details.

    thanks
