LM4040-N-Q1: Difference between LM4040QCEM3-2.5/NOPB and LM4040QBIM3-2.5/NOPB?

Part Number: LM4040-N-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM4040, LM4040-N

Hi

what is the difference between LM4040QCEM3-2.5/NOPB and LM4040QBIM3-2.5/NOPB?

Thanks

Fred

  • Hi Frederik,

The designations in bold represent the tolerance grade and temperature range. I will break it down below
    LM4040QCEM3-2.5
    LM4040 (device)/ Q (Q-100 grade for automotive)/ C (0.5% tolerance grade)/ I (Industrial temperature grade -40C to 85C) / M3 (DBZ package) / 2.5 (2.5V output)
    LM4040QBIM3-2.5
    LM4040 (device)/ Q (Q-100 grade for automotive)/ B (0.2% tolerance grade)/ E (Extended temperature grade -40C to 125C) / M3 (DBZ package) / 2.5 (2.5V output)

The tolerance grade determines the initial accuracy grade that the device will have at 25C. The temperature grade determine the recommended operating temperature of the device.

  • Hi Marcoo,

    thank you for this Information.
Am i right that above Grade D extended temp range is not available?
Is there another option as a second source for the LM4040QCEM3-2.5?
    Thanks
  • Hi Steffen,

D grade extended in Q grade does exist. it is LM4040QDEM3-2.5/NOPB

I do not know about second sourcing for competitors but within TI we have the TI version and the national version of the LM4040. The LM4040 is the TI version and the LM4040-N is the national version. I'm sure those 2 can second source each other as they have overlap.
