BQ24630: Size restrained: How to disable Input Adapter Current Regulation

If soft-start, MOSFET short protection and battery short, input OVP, input current limit is not needed, you can remove ACFET. You can also short ACN and ACP at VBUS if input current limit is not needed.

BATFET can be removed and BATDRV can be left floating if you do not have system connected.

Thanks for the feedback. So ACFET's can be removed and then I need to connect ACN and ACP to VBUS?

I do have a load connected (motor), however, it will only be on when not charging.

If the load is on, the power from the (galvanic)DCDC input to the carger is removed.

Can I then still safely remove BATFET?

If it is not connected at the SYSTEM node of the application diagram you captured in the previous post, then it should be okay to remove BATFET.

Depends on the current, a 20-µF capacitance at the converter input is suggested for typical of 3-A to 4-A charging current.

Motordriver is connected to the battery, not system.
I made this design, can you check it for me?

Some questions:

1. The output C, 20uF, can it be less than 25V for 1 cell application (3,6V charge 4A)

2. To disable the TS, am I right to apply half vref to it? Is 100k/100k a good value?

I want a red light to light up when in fault (stat1 & stat 2 off) so I added a NOR gate
Now I feed the nor gate with the 12V adapter input, but I need voltage dividers for that.
Could I also power all the LEDs + nor gate from Vref (max 35mA). Only one LED (20mA max) will be on all the time + current needed for voltage references.
Or is this a bad idea, due to current swing when switching leds?

(Now I think of it, another, less components solution would be to add a small LDO for all the leds)

Damn, 'newbe' mistake, the extra LED addition will make all LEDS go on because they are connected to Gnd through the voltage dividers.
How can I 'sense' that both stat1 & stat2 are low and switch a fault led?
