LMG1020: Where is A1 pin

Part Number: LMG1020

Dear Specialists,

The customer has the same question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

Could you please see attached file.

According to the attached thread, the A1 pin is in the lower left corner of the line of the letters.

Is it correct?

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • I'm sorry.

I've forgot to attach the file.

Could you please see the file below.

confirmation of the place of A1 pin.pptx

  • Hi Shinichi1,

Thanks for reaching out! Sorry about the pin1 confusion.

You are correct about the location of pin1 in the attached ppt.

The correct way to determine where pin1 is located (in this case for LMG1020) is to hold the IC with the lettering facing you and right side up (just like the ppt). Once you can read the IC silkscreen like a book you can find pin1 at the bottom left corner of the IC (just like the ppt). The top  view of the IC in section5 of the datasheet gives a hint but doesnt clarify further in the package outline at the bottom. Thanks for letting me know about this, I will be making a blog that focuses on where to find pin1 to avoid confusion in the future.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Jeffrey,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand A1 pin is bottom left corner of the IC.

I'll share this information with the customer.

    I appreciate your great help.

    Best regards,

    Shinichi

  • Hi Shinichi,
    Sounds great!

I forgot to give you a bit of info that might be of use!

The “X” on the preproduction parts is the pin 1 annotation however, on the production parts it is the filled in as a dot. We did this because there is no room for any characters and wanted to ensure we can distinguish between pre/post production parts.

    Thanks!
  • Hi Jefferey,

    Thank you for your reply.

I could know "X" means preproduction code and put on the dot in production.

I'll also share your information with the customer.

    I appreciate your great help.

    Best regards,

    Shinichi
