Isolated DC(100V)/DC(60V) Application - UCC28631 suitable?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28631, UCC28633, UCC28630

Hi community and employees,

we want to design an isolated DC/DC flyback converter with the UCC28631. But in the datasheet it was mentioned:

"9.3.3.1 Improved Performance with UCC28630 and UCC28633

Because the device monitors the HV pin to detect a DC condition on the X-capacitor, the system cannot operate
with DC input to the HV pin. Instead, the HV pin must be connected to an AC source only. The device interprets
any DC input on the HV pin as DC across the X-capacitor, indicating an AC-disconnect event."

So is this only valid for the UCC28630 and its possible to use the UCC28631 with high DC?

Are there better solutions with an other controller regarding following specs?

  • Input: 100V DC +-10%, Output: 60V DC +- 5%
  • No optocoupler for feedback (PSR)
  • Isolation

Thank you for your help and support, kind regards

Matthias
