How to contact the magnetic vendors in PMP reference design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP

Hi Support Team,

I have some inquiries about the custom magnetics that had been used in different PMP reference designs, do you have the contact information for those magnetic vendors so I can get the information from them?

Many thanks.

  • Hello Wei-Hao,
You will have to look in each BOM to see which magnetics vendor was used for the transformer.  Many of the designs use custom magnetics, so you will have to ask the vendor for information with the custom part number included.  Vendors include:
    GCi Technologies
    Coilcraft
    Renco Electronics

  • Wei-hao,

Leonard is correct. For any custom part number on TI's reference design BOMs that you can't find on the magnetics' company's website, you will need to contact them directly to get more details on that part. Sometimes if you search the part number here in e2e someone may have posted it but not always.

Additionally, if you need to consult with a magnetics company to assist with a new design if you have done one in webench or with an excel design calculator with our part or even need changes done to an existing TI reference design that you have found, it's always best to talk with them directly so they understand all the context and details of your design.

I've attached a good reference contact list for magnetics vendors that some engineers have used in the past. It is not an exhaustive list and TI does not endorse these companies specifically as official partners but they have been used in reference designs before.

    Regards,

    John

  • Hi Wei-Hao,

Strongly recommends on WE (Midcom). they have active, OTS transformers.  (every OTS transformer started as custom)

they support parametric search with Vin range and outputs.

if you're looking foe specific size / shape you can chose one of many OTS ones -
