LP-3952 ACPI id?

If there isn't one, can you get one assigned please? As platform drivers in Linux is getting deprecated, either ACPI or device tree needs to be used. In order to uniquely identify this device within ACPI, it needs to have an ACPI id, which is assigned by device manufacturers [Reference : http://www.uefi.org/PNP_ACPI_Registry ].

Hi Tony.

As of now, we cannot find an official ACPI ID for LP3592. As you may know, ACPI ID consists of two parts: a Vendor ID, followed by a product identifier. Vendor ID of TI is TXNW as you found, and you need product ID for your patch work. I think TXNW3592 would be good for LP3592 like you've discussed with Rafael J. Wysocki. If I find the official Product ID for ACPI ID, I will let you know and then you can send new patch to mainline.

I've checked this issue internally. It is hard to confirm the ID because your company need to have signed the usage agreement with TI to assign a specific product id for a TI product.

I am not after a ACPI id specific to a company. The id has to be unique and same for any user. Based on your suggestion, I have submitted a patch with id "TXNW3952". Please let me know, if it can't be used.
