Hello!

I'm a student majoring in Electronic Engineering. Currently i'm developing my thesis project, which includes the Ultra Low-Dropout CMOS Voltage Regulator LP3981. I have to create the component's module library with Kicad but i can't find the exact footprint of the VSSOP-8 package. Could someone please tell me where i can find that?

I created the same thing in Kicad. I used the OPA2170 datasheet as a reference. I used the DCU package.

I had to go back to the National Semiconductor datasheet to get the footprint drawing.

Thank you very much for your advices!In the meantime i continued to look for a suitable footprint and i realized that LP3891 package dimensions are almost coincident with those of MSOP-8 package, therefore also the footprint of MUA08A package will be fine. Thanks again for your kindness!

DO NOT DO WHAT I DID. VSSOP8 in the OPA2170 is a completely different footprint from VSSOP8 in the LMV552 footprint. Thanks for the free parts TI, but I have to redo my PCB because the LMV552 VSSOP-8 is too big to fit on OPA2170 VSSOP8's footprint.

Would be nice if the recommended PCB layout had been in the LMV552....
