TLV760: ESD test report/ ESD diode clamp voltage.?

the ESD rating of TLV760 is 2kV (human body model). The 2kV rating is enough for the handling of devices during assembling and soldering. But the 2kV rating might not be enough in an industrial application.

Hi Jason: From customer:

As per our understanding, the 2kV HBM rating is the rating of the applied Voltage during an ESD Strike/test and not the Clamping voltage of the ESD Diode. We want to know,
• If the ESD diode which is internal is present for both Input and Output pins or present only at Input Pin.
• What is the clamp voltage for the ESD diode ? This is to understand if they require to place an external ESD Diode for their specification.

Hi Naser,

the filter caps at input and output usually absorb the most charge and energy of an ESD event. The 8kV of 100pF cap of ESD gun results in an overvoltage of 0.8V when discharging into a 1µF cap.
