TPS7A8300: chip versions

Part Number: TPS7A8300

Hi to all,

actually we’ve got one issue with the LDO TPS7A8300RGR.

On our desk we’ve got two identical circuit boards with the LDO TPS7A8300 on it.

Because the two boards have different output voltages at the LDO, we checked the circuit around the LDO carefully.

By checking the LDO itself, we recognized, that there is a different labeling on the chips.

LDO_1:

PA9Q

TI 71|

AXEO

LDO_2:

PA9Q

TI 72|

COPV

So are both chips really the TPS7A8300? Or do we have there different voltage regulators?

What is the reason for the different labeling? Different chip versions?

Thank you very much for your support.

Best regards,

Paul Rott

  • Hi Paul,

PA9Q corresponds to our TPS7A8300 device in the RGR package.  You can find this topside mark here:

The additional information on the topside of the package correspond to date and lot codes.

Could you help me better understand the issue that you are seeing?  Can you provide a partial schematic (just the LDO components is fine) and scope shots?  These will help me better aid in debugging.

    Very Respectfully,

    Ryan

  • Hi Ryan,

thank you very much for your response.
Great to know, that it's the same chip.

We will debugg the problem in the next days.
You will hear from us, if we don't cope with the described problem.

    Best regards,
    Paul
