Controlling output voltage on SM72441, SM72442, SM72445

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SM72441, SM72442, SM72445

As a reminder for people using the SM7244x devices:

- Output voltage limit can be modified on SM72442 and SM72441 by changing the voltage on pin A0 while the IC is running WITHOUT resetting the device

-Output voltage limit can be modified on the SM72445  by changing the voltage on pin A0 while the IC is running but change will be applied ONLY AFTER resetting the device

Output voltage limit works by reducing the duty cycle each MPPT step if the sensed output voltage (pin AVOUT) is higher than the set voltage limit (pin A0 or value set through I2C override).

Output voltage limit is enforced ONLY when the unit performs soft start and when running in MPPT, NOT when the "Panel Mode" switch is active (PM and PM_STARTUP state, as described in the datasheet)

  • Hello i'm trying to build the circuit showed on the datasheet of the SM72445 but i have the following questions:

1- If I set the pin A2 to 3.44 V to opperate in low frequency and to use the  H-bridge for PM operation. Does that means that the PM_OUT pin becomes useless and i can avoid using the whole circuit related to it? I mean the PM driver and the 2 Transistors?

2- Wich H-Bridge driver would yo recomend me to use? ir2110 is ok? Idon't know if i can use bootstrap because the high side of the bridge couln't opperate in ON state continuously.Could you suggest me a circuit?
