Hi,

I need to generate +5V and -5V with 12V Input. I'm using TPS54060 regulator to generate required output.

I've referred the following document to design the circuit.

I did not find any step by step guidelines to design positive and negative supply using TPS54060.

I've entered the schematic in TINA-TI and tried to simulate.

It was showing error as fault in design.

Attached the TINA-TI schematic.

Please help me with your feedback.

I am pretty sure the TPS54060 model has internal blocks connected to GND. Those blocks have to float for the model to simulate the inverting buck boost topology used in the dual +/- output supply as the GND becomes the minus rail voltage.

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply.

But I'm using the same schematic in my design. I've designed the values for components as per the step by step design guidelines in the device datasheet.

The design guidelines in the datasheet was given for single output. I'm not sure that same values works for dual supply too. And I did not find any equation for finding the value for coupled inductor.

Can you please provide any application note or design guide for generating dual supply using TPS54060 ?

Hi Amith,

The following app note written for the TPS54160 can be used with the TPS54060. The key thing that changes between the two ICs will be the gmps used in equation 28 resulting in different compensation.
